Cajun Beef Pasta Recipe

This Cajun Beef pasta is a wholesome, hearty dish packed with 40g of protein.

Absolutely perfect for both an elevated dinner and a meal prep dish, this is a versatile recipe that helps you stay on track with your fitness goals without having to compromise taste.

Seasoned with garlic, onion, Cajun spices, tomatoes, and even honey, this lean beef pasta dish is bursting with flavour – it's an elevated version of a classic go-to pasta recipe, yet it’s still quick and easy to make!

Plus, you can make this dish your own by experimenting with different types of pasta and adding in whatever veggies you like.

Perfect for both fancy dinners and adding into your weekly meal prep, this is a versatile, cheap, quick dish that keeps on giving.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 150g pasta of your choice
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 250g 5% lean beef mince
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 400g tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 30g light cheddar, topping
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Low calorie oil spray

METHOD:

  1. Cook pasta as per packet instructions. You can use any type of pasta for this dish.

  2. Whilst the pasta cooks, heat a pan with low calorie oil spray.

  3. Add onions and garlic and fry off for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

  4. Add lean beef and break up using a spatula, fry off until browned.

  5. Sprinkle over paprika and Cajun seasoning and mix well.

  6. Add tomato puree, honey, chopped tomatoes and 6-8 tbsp of pasta water to the pan and simmer for 6-8 minutes until thickened. Season to taste.

  7. Drain pasta and add to the sauce, mix well and heat through for 2 minutes.

  8. Serve topped with grated cheese.

Food prep tip – make 3-4 portions for an easy food prep. Leave to cool completely before refrigerating. Reheat in microwave or air fryer for a freshly cooked taste. Will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days.
