Gym Rules
This document sets out the rules you must comply with when using our gyms. If you break the Gym Rules we may have the right to cancel your membership.
Things you must do
You must familiarise yourself with these Gym Rules and the Safety and Security guidance. This includes guidance on what to do during unstaffed hours.
You must provide ID when asked to do so by a member of PureGym staff.
You must wear clothing and footwear which is appropriate for exercise.
You must seek advice from a member of PureGym staff if you are unsure as to how to use any gym machine or equipment.
You must put your weights and equipment back in their correct place when finished.
You must be considerate of others and avoid using gym machines or equipment for long periods of time.
You must inform PureGym of any change of contact and email address or telephone numbers. These changes can be made in the Members' Area of the PureGym website.
Keep any valuables on your person. Members are solely responsible for their own belongings whilst visiting PureGym. PureGym accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property.
You must use the changing room appropriate to your biological sex, or use the all gender facilities.
You must ensure that you take personal responsibility for your training and safety within the gym and only train within your ability.
Things you must not do
You must not share your PIN number or QR code with anyone, or allow anyone else to use it. If someone tailgates you into the gym, please report to a member of staff.
You must not use any of the gym machines or equipment if you are unsure how to use them.
You must not use any of the gym machines or equipment if you are unwell or not capable of exercising unsupervised.
You must not bring bags or large items onto the gym floor. This is for your safety and the safety of others in the gym, and a member of PureGym staff may remove such items if they think they pose a risk.
You must not wear inappropriate clothing. Clothing such as jeans, boots, flip-flops/sandals, slip on shoes or work wear are not permitted. Please do not wear any items of clothing that may cause offence to others.
You must not train in large groups / hog the gym machines or equipment for long periods of time. We encourage our members to share between sets during busy periods.
You must not use the gym whilst under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, tranquilisers or any medication or other substance which may affect your ability to exercise safely. You must not bring illegal substances into the gym.
You must not misuse the weights by dropping them on the floor, unless within areas designed for heavy lifting.
You must not take pictures, videos or live stream other members within the gym without their permission. If requested by staff or other members to cease filming for privacy reasons, you must do so.
You must not make video calls in the changing rooms.
You must not behave in an aggressive, abusive, violent or threatening manner whilst on our premises.
You must not behave in an anti-social manner when on our premises, for example by making unwanted advances of a sexual nature to other gym users or PureGym staff members, or by staring or cat calling at other users or PureGym staff members, or by engaging with other users after they have asked you to leave them alone.
You must not use the gym if you are under the age of 16. A member of staff may ask you for ID at any time.
You must not smoke or use vapes/e-cigarettes at any time in any part of our premises.
You must not bring bikes or e-scooters into PureGym premises. These should be left outside the gym.
You must not bring a personal trainer into the gym unless they are a PureGym personal trainer or you have been given permission in writing from PureGym Central Support. Anyone else providing personal training to members will be asked to leave the gym immediately.
You must not bring any pets (other than official aid dogs) into PureGym premises.
For members safety and security we operate CCTV in all gyms 24/7. PureGym reserves the right for its employees and contractors to review footage as required. For example, in the event of a member complaint, issue or dispute we may refer to the CCTV recording to help us in any investigation.
