Sophie Wax

Hi, I’m Soph!

I love being active and have made it my mission to encourage others to get moving. I’ve always enjoyed watching and playing sports, and became a PT to share my passion with other people so that they can be their healthiest, happiest self.

I played both Netball and Lacrosse throughout school and continued with Lacrosse at University. It was during one of my summer breaks that I qualified as a PT. In my final year of uni, I changed sport to Korfball (I describe it as a mix between basketball & netball!). After finishing my Masters, I joined Edinburgh City Korfball club as both a player and as their Fitness Coach, and am also part of the Scotland National Squad.

The gym has always been something I’ve enjoyed to support my sports performance, so my focus is on non-appearance-based goals like being able to run faster or jump higher, and it is this mindset which I use with my PT clients. The priority with any type of physical activity is enjoyment because if you don’t enjoy it, you’re not going to stick with it - so I’ll make sure that we find fun things in the gym to do together!

If you’re wanting support on your fitness goals, whether that be strength training to improve your running, you want to be able to carry your heavy food shopping, or you’re just looking to try something new - please drop me a message!
